C.O.D Digestion Unit is specially designed for digestion of COD test samples and multi-function heating applications. The unit provides precise and controlled heating for reliable sample digestion.

The system provides precise temperature control from ambient +5°C to 150°C with an accuracy of ±1°C. It is fitted with a Microprocessor Based Digital Temperature Controller cum Timer for automatic control with respect to both time and temperature.

The controller is provided with individual displays for temperature and timer. An in-built buzzer timer with automatic time control indicates the end of the digestion cycle.

The heating block is designed with 15 cavities to accommodate 15 samples simultaneously. After digestion for 2 hours, the samples can be analyzed using a calorimeter or conventional titration method.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The C.O.D Digestion Unit heats the samples inside a polished aluminium heating block under precisely controlled temperature conditions.

The required temperature and digestion time are set through the Microprocessor Based Digital Temperature Controller cum Timer. Once the set or desired temperature is achieved, the Automatic Digital Minute Timer starts automatically.

The unit maintains the required heating conditions for the preset duration. When the selected time period is completed, the heaters switch off automatically and the built-in buzzer provides an alarm to indicate the end of the cycle.

Samples after being digested for 2 hours can be analyzed using a calorimeter or conventional titration method.

CONSTRUCTION

The C.O.D Digestion Unit is constructed with an external body made of powder coated CRC steel and a polished aluminium heating block.

The heating block measures 300 mm (L) × 200 mm (W) × 60 mm (D) and incorporates 15 cavities for accommodating 15 samples simultaneously.

The unit is supplied with 15 glass tubes, 15 air condensers and one tube rack for convenient sample digestion.
